오늘은 추억의 팝 명곡 레인보우의 The Temple Of The King을 준비했습니다.

 

이 노래는 1975년에 발표된 것으로 알려져 있는데요.

 

이 곡이 당시 얼마나 유명했나 하면 길거리 LP점이나 음악다방에 앉아있다 보면 항상 듣곤 하던 노래였습니다.

 

Rainbow는 기타의 전설로 불리는 리치 블랙모어가 결성한 록밴드로 리치는 그렇다 치더라도 당시 신인급이었던 로니 제임스 디오(1942년 7월 10일 출생~2010년 5월 16일 사망)의 보컬은 지금 들어도 정말 압권이라고 생각되는데요.

 

지금은 고인이 된 그를 기리며, 디오의 전성기 목소리로 Temple Of The King을 들어 봅시다.

젊고 강한 태양의 그 남자가

거대한 검은 종의 울음을 들었던 날....

종이 울리기 시작했을때는

누군가 왕의 신전으로 가야 한다는 것을 의미하지

 

그는 군중속(사람들이 모이면 원[Circle]이 되지)에서 일어나 답을 찾기 시작했어

떨리는 손으로 한번 건드리기만 해도

대답은 다가오겠지

 

아침 여명이 늙은이의 노래소리를 기다리고있어

"하늘이시여 절 버리시나이까"

그리고 수천개의 날개가 돌진하는 것처럼
